Coaching
Whatever the problem, coaching has the answer.
Coaching is often described as talking therapy for the functioning. Unlike its counselling counterpart (which tends to look backwards), coaching is present and future focused. During the session, you will gift yourself the time and space to think deeply about what it is that you really want and how to pursue this against all the obstacles. Working out what is getting in your way and how to overcome it, is the key to unlocking your success. This is solution focused coaching that delivers the result you want.
1:1 coaching closes the gap between your current ability and your next capacity
As a career coach, I work with clients who want to make positive changes in their working life. It is sometimes the case, however, that the thing which holds you back, sits outside the 9-5. The lines between work and life are never neatly drawn. When I coach, I cross those blurred boundaries to find out what is causing the problem. When we find it … we coach on that, we remove the obstacle. This ‘holistic, whole life approach, will positively impact your confidence and success.
Sometimes we know what we want …
Other times, we know what we don’t want.
Coaching for more …
more time
more confidence
more creativity
more balance
more control
more money
Coaching for less …
less stress
less overwhelm
less stagnation
less ‘fear of failure’
less ‘people pleasing’
less procrastination
Coaching for the confidence to get what you want

Low confidence, self-doubt or imposter syndrome can negatively impact your career prospects and general happiness at work. Coaching is a potent antidote to this problem, acting as a powerful advocate for your best self. This work happens on two levels; firstly, we identify the root cause of the issue and find solutions to that problem. Secondly, we use cutting edge coaching techniques to create a more intentional mindset that supports shifts in self-belief and resilience.

Change can be challenging. Our brains crave certainty and stability and will often feel vulnerable when the status quo is under threat. Change can also be liberating, exciting and full of opportunity. Coaching can bring powerful relief to the feelings of anxiety and help you towards a more intentional and positive mindset that is necessary for moving forward into a new role or company.
-
Striking the right balance between our working life and everything else that we value; be it family, friends, hobbies or ‘me time’, can feel like an impossible task. Not knowing how to create healthy boundaries between these different elements can lead to feelings of guilt, overwhelm and resentment. Coaching can help you identify the problems, explore the possibilities and initiate changes that bring harmony to the chaos.
-
We often spend more time in the company of our colleagues than we do with our family - if relationships are strained it can make work pretty uncomfortable. Changing how the other people in this dynamic behave is rarely possible. Coaching you on your thoughts, feelings and behaviour can bring about change for all parties. This is true even when you are not at fault!
-
Redundancy means different things, to different people, in different situations but … it almost universally signals a dramatic shift in your working life. For those who welcome this change, coaching can be helpful in exploring ‘what next?’, for those who did not choose this, we can help you with both the emotional and the practical repercussions.
-
Returning to the workplace after a period of leave can bring existential as well as logistical challenges. We are able to hold your whole life in this moment - from navigating the emotional and practical issues associated with not being at home, to addressing your anxieties around performance in your professional role.
-
Too many of us have only a vague notion of what it is we really want. The treadmill of life can stop us taking time to establish exactly what that looks like. Without absolute clarity on what we truly desire, and why, we will not take the action required to achieve it. Simple as that. Coaching creates that space for you to explore the options, establish the goal and make a plan for how to make it happen.
-
Do you ever catch yourself complaining that ‘there’s not enough time’? Many people in today’s busy world feel that they are spinning too many plates or juggling too many balls. Feelings of overwhelm and being out of control are common but the effect is often one of wasted energy and, paradoxically, wasted time. Getting coached can help replace the chaos with clarity and a sense of calm.

Expectations can be both external, set by managers, colleagues, family and friends, and internal, our inner voice which all too often demands perfection. Coaching has a proven record when it comes to tackling anxieties around meeting expectations - yours included!
